The National Ballet of Canada’s Gratitude Classes

This is our way of pitching in to support frontline essential service workers.

We hope the free classes, that are tailored to the needs each organization and group, provide a brief reprieve to these heroes, lifting spirits and boosting morale before heading back to the frontlines.

If you, or someone you know, is a frontline essential services worker and are interested in a Gratitude Class with a specific focus, please email us at media@national.ballet.ca and we would love to assist.

Zoom Dance Class

Best Practices

Attached is a summary of best-practices we are currently using for The National Ballet of Canada Company class via Zoom.

This document is being updated often and may be out of date in 45 minutes or so ...

Please note the particular circumstances this guide applies to:

  • We are running company class with a live pianist in a separate location from the teacher.

  • We usually have a person who is not the teacher acting as Host for the event; they are able to monitor chat and other settings during the class.

  • We are not currently implementing some of the security practises that Zoom recommends (registration, Waiting Room, etc.).

Even if your circumstances are different, there may still be some information in this that will help you.

Feel free to share if you find better ways to do things, or glamorous workarounds!

yours,

Jeff Morris
